Muzzle threading postban ar-15

I have a postban carbine, bushmaster, that I would like to have the muzzled threaded on for a flash hider. Is this a do it at home job? Will the muzzle have to be turned down for the flashhider to fit properly?

If by "do at home" you mean threading with a threading die, the answer would be a definite NO. If you're skilled with a lathe and have one at home, it's not that tough of a job. I have threaded several barrels on my home shop lathe, but always have to get a bit of a start by running a practice job or two before I do the "real" job.

With threading dies, even if you can get it on the barrel straight (virtually impossible), and HOLD it there, you will still lack a square shoulder for your muzzle accessories to mount against.
