What can a muzzle-break do for a mini -14 ? I saw one for $20.00 at johnmasen.com while looking at their 10 round mags.

Thanks!

Well, gee, just shoot your Mini at night (when you'll need to use it most--low, altered or failing light--and find out)!!! Get the spiral Vortex; it's the best I've found.

Wait, just checked your post, you live in the PRK. Are you even allowed to own a firearm?

I got one from Bushmaster and I love it. It looks like an M1A now!! Oh well its not though:(
I noticed a slight decrease in muzzle hop but thats about it. If you want a mean looking gun always go with a muzzle brake. Even thought the're pointless:cool:

KS,

is it possible for you to reply to any posting without an "oh so humorous" joke about California? You even managed to blame poor writing in Guns and Ammo magazine on Californian writers.

Is life that boring in Indiana?

Just wondering,

Bowser.

California is a slave state.

We deserve to be the butt of jokes, says I, a California native. Learn it, live it, know it. Realizing you're a slave is the first step toward freedom.

As I understand it, we are not allowed to own rifles with more than one evil characteristic.

Detachable mag+flash suppressor=evil
Detachable mag+muzzle brake="permissable" (compare a California M1A with one from a free state to see the awful difference).

Regards to all.

No...It's just that when you live in a shall issue state, it's hard to comprehend places like California and Illinois being able to exist.

Actually, it's quite easy to comprehend why it exists...look at the demographics.

I was wondering why people constantly bash California. Don't you have anything better to do?

BTW, Gary, Indiana is the 6th most dangerous city in the nation. I live in one of the top 10 safest. Explain that. It would tend to fly in the face of the "Less guns - more crime" train of thought.

California has more NRA members than any other state. Why should we band together to help so called "fellow" gun owners who put us down all the time?

Bowser.

Sorry, Bowser, just a witty, funny guy (if looks count). Gun rag writers are on another thread. BTW, Gary ain't part of Indiana, homeboyeee (not that we claim anyway-home of Michael Jackson need I say more).

Getting back to the original question, I don't know whether Kalifornios are allowed to put "muzzle breaks" on their firearms or not, but if you can (legally) have a spiral Vortex put on. Better yet, get the complete weapon from Chief AJ (retired) at White Barn in Illinois. Great "urban rifle" without "black gun" profile that has the sissies in the PRK upset. However, it is only as tactical as you make it!

Concur with fellow Kalifornian Ledbetter

with respects to his remark that we are deserving of the jokes directed towards us. The Feel Good state has numerous worthless laws which our politicos can write home to their constituents about on how well they're doing to fight crime. :barf:

Can't have muzzlebrakes on detachable magazine guns here in the Workers' Paradise of California. So, my solution is to buy a muzzlebrake grenade launcher for my M1 Garand! Furthermore, it has a Nigerian pistol grip stock. OK, I know the Garand purists are feeling uneasy, but this one was no prize and I have numerous other Garands which remain untouch (and unfired). My final addition will be the fitting of a BM-59 bipod and a fake detachable magazine. Imagine the reactions when folks learn it's entirely legal because it has no detachable magazine?

I've bought such a brake....

There was a vendor at my last gunshow selling John Masen stuff... heck, maybe it was his son? My dad and I bought a supressor and it dropped out groups at least six inches. It was one of those that kept the original sight in place, and was attached by a pin. Returned it the next show for a 20rd AR mag.

I'm gonna look for these guys next show and see if they have some 20-30 rounders for the mini. I hear John Masens are pretty good...

My gunsmith actually installed my brake wrong and totally drove me nuts one day. I was hitting about 5 feet low at 100yds and couldn't figure out what was wrong. I had the scope dialed all the way down and still couldn't get the bullets on paper. Then I took the scope off and fired with open sights. After that I realized something was WAY wrong. I looked inside the muzzle brake and there were Gold scuff marks inside on the top. The bullets were smacking the top of the muzzle brake and hitting dirt 5ft low. I took it back and didn't have to pay for it. I haven't noticed any accuracy difference since it was installed the PROPER way.

NOT NECESSARY.since you live in such a safe place why do you need a gun?why are you here bothering us gun owners, lovers, carriers?????
