Muzzle Brake Orientation Q

Now before criticisms start, I reside in a state with those "funny rifle laws". So bare with me. I took my AR to a local smith of many many years, many many good reviews. Picked up the first rifle today to check out the work. Task was simple, pin the muzzle brake on the barrel. I purchased a yankee hill brake with "5 Port design". So there is a spot with no ports I would assume it faces the ground so it does not push the muzzle up or kick up dust. To my surprise this guy assumed the no port section should be on the top. Its pinned on, nothing anyone can do about it now, but who is right?

Assumptions

:( Seems to me it should be a simple matter of rotating 180 and repining . The first pin slot should have zero effect on anything . Personaly , I would have known which way it went before I installed it . Learned a long time ago not to make assumptions , they bite the butt too often !

But you cant just take the pin out and rotate, or am I missing something?

Yes, I learned my lesson on assumptions this time.

Your "gunsmith" ( ) will need to use a small end mill to remove the old pin as a drill bit would probably wander.
