Make that possible negligent manslaughter?

Everybody please read my opening post on Part 2. It was not my purpose to offend anyone but to ask questions related to the Lebanon, TN - botched raid that resulted in the police shooting an innocent citizen and the fact that the search warrant was INVALID. I APOLOGIZE IF I OFFENDED ANYONE.

Referring to Wheelgunner6 response: "I'm not going to answer this Tiger character's questions cause he is a anti-LEO inciter and IGNORANT". Sir, if I said anything PERSONNALLY TO OFFEND YOU, I APOLOGIZE. I am sorry you feel that you must attack me personally in lieu a reasonable response. As a public servant I've tried to show empathy for your problems, but obviously I'm not qualified to do so since I'm just an ignorant educator.

9X45's comments referring to my post as "bovine feces" speaks volumes about the level of this discussion.

Since some of you desire to personalize this discussion, please let me personalize my question ...

What would you have me do IF .... The improbable happenned and my home was raided by home invader or by police mistake?

Let us say it is 3:00 A.M. and I am in bed sound a sleep. My security system alarm next to my bed goes off meaning someone is approaching my house. As I grab my rifle someone is breaking down my front doors. The odds are it is a real home invasion and any further delay will put our safety in jeopardy. There is no time to identify these invaders and the darkness of the moment is in my favor. There is only a fraction of a second to make a decision and my survival instincts are in the automatic mode.

LEO's: What would you have me do?

Consider that my frame of reference on this subject is NOT that of public education administrator, but based on my experience of being there when TSHTF. After over 30 years I still do not talk about those days. No heroics here, just personal survival, and ultimately ... doing what was necessary to come home.

We all need to keep in mind that our politician-lawmakers and courts put us in this situation. However, we must deal with the reality of the situation. Shall we ???

Tiger, much as I love a good debate this may not be the place for this one. Much as I love horses and would value any productive conversation regarding them I truly hate to see one beat after it is dead. Call it deceased equine preservation and anti- desecration if you will. But please let this topic expire.
I mean no disrespect what so ever to you. In fact I honestly believe that you and I (as well as most here) agree on this (very non RKBA) issue. As you and most of the membership know I am a retired LEO and therefore it goes without saying have strong feelings regarding the subject as well. The fact is I Emailed one of the other members regarding one of the post in the previous threads on this subject. I must admit that I have been negligent in not getting back with him but can say in all assurance that I now understand his perspective and am willing to except his postition as he is mine. I would submit that for the betterment of the forum and to maintain a certain amount of tranquility that we all take any further debate about this topic to Email. I understand that you felt a need to express your views.....as I did mine. But please may we all take those opposing views to Email and get back to the task at hand...the RKBA and firearms discussion.
No flame or disrespect intended. Just trying to protect the remains of a sadly deceased equine.

Perhaps there is a lesson to be learned by one department's experiences in Idaho. This is related to me by a friend, a retired California police officer who lives there now.

"A local cop shot a dog while prowling around the dog's back yard. It was all the cops could do to get the officer out of the area alive. When the department failed to discipline the officer they lost a unit to vandalism. They bought the family a new dog and put the officer on the desk for 6 months and everything returned to normal."

In the immortal words of Besty Ross as she was struggling with a difficult pattern while making the original flag; "Die thread, die".

As i stated in my first response, yes it is our voting public who place these folks [legislators] in positions in which THE WILL OF THE PEOPLE becomes law.

It then becomes the task of Officers of the court to enforce these statutes.

There must be every effort made to avoid tragic incidents such as this one on all concerned who are charged with enforcing the law.

As i have stated before on this forum, if these officers are found guilty of breaking the law and the trust given to them by those they are sworn to serve and protect, they should come under the full weight of the law and be judged by a jury of there peers and punished accordingly.

But let the FACTS be known before posting "MURDER BY COPS". This information comes from the medis whos bias is well known and is extended to many other groups of people just not only to police officers.

Bottom line to me is, if you don't think that a particular law is justified or plain unjust, tell your represenitives who make the law [on your behalf] to change or eliminate them altogether.
