muller scopes are they good?

mmmmmmmm i'm guessing not to many people have herd of these scopes

I've read nothing but good things about it so far. The one guy that tested one out said the optics on the tac 2 are vary comparable to that of a leoplold vx 3  i've never looked through a vx3 but i have looked through a vx2 and if it's better than that then maby this is a good scope?

anyway just thought i'd ask to see if anyone else had anything good to say about them or if they is another brand I should consider before i go and purchase this one. :D

Mueller are good budget scopes. i did kill one with my .338 Win Mag, but they sent me a replacment as soon as I gave them my tracking number and I actually had the new (new in box) scope before they got the old one. Good scopes, but I will stick with my Zeiss or Leupold VX-III for extreme long range shooting. Also check out Simmons 44mag scopes. Similiar performance and even cheaper (they have discontinued this line and you can get some new at a great price from Natchez). I have a Simmons 6-24X50A/O (special run for natchez a few years ago, now they sell similiar models in the Prairie Master line from Simmons) that I paid a 100 bucks for and was my main scope on my 700PSS in 7mm Rem Mag and only swapped in the Leupold VX-III for extreme low light conditions. The simmons scope held up to about 500 rounds from my 700pss and I now have it mounted on a custom enfield no4 mk I in .303 british shooting extremely hot hand loads with no loss of zero and no problems. Mueller is good, but check out simmons models as well. Either way you can't go wrong for a budget priced scope. Happy Shooting.

Well, no, a VX3 Loopy they ain't. I'd say maybe almost comparable to a VX2 clarity-wise, but in reality, probably between a vx1 and vx2. And it's "Mueller" by the way, not Muller.

oops my bad must have been a miss type:D

i don't think the 4x16x50ao tactical (from what i read) Is as good as the vx 3 but the 3x10x44 tac 2 is the one that's supose to have a better glass in it and that's the one that they have been saying is comparable.

I'm tossing between the two not sure what one to get if the 4x16x50ao tactical had the same glass as the tac 2 than i'd get it but i think the tac 2 is more logical for mounting on a 30 06 for huting and target shooting.

But i'll look into the simmions one maby that's a better deal yet :D

Since I previously posted in this old thread, now I'm not so keen on the Muellers any more, due to cheap flaky finish, very quick blackout, and short eye relief. But for the money not too bad...pretty clear and nice features, like the heavy reticle and target turrets.
