MSNBC Poll: What's the biggest issue?

New MSNBC Poll

The question:

Of the issues on which Gore and Bush will focus in the fall campaign, what's the most important to you?

So far, the results out of 7013 repsponses:

Abortion 17%
Taxes 58%
Gun laws 25%

If we make RKBA the main issue, W. will have to hold his ground! If he weasles, he looses face and the election! The true arguments will also surface. This is a win/win for us!

I followed your link, and did NOT find the poll, but having seen such polls before, let me ask this: Suppose we DID manage to push the numbers up so that gun control appeared to be the number one issue...

How would this help us with Bush, when THE F****G POLL DOESN'T LET YOU INDICATE WHICH SIDE OF THAT ISSUE YOU FALL ON? Combine such a poll result with the usual polls showing public support for gun control, and you might frighten Bush into turning on us, but you sure as heck are NOT going to give him a backbone!

That's why the question is so ambiguous about which side people are on; Were the question too clear, it would make it hard to spin the result the way they want!

I guess my bias is showing.

I firmly believe that the more people know about an issue, the more they will go with the most intelligent arguments.

The antis' arguments are, for the most part, full of hot air. As those arguments are analysed thoroughly, the better we look. We must have faith that we are in the right.

Clinton's argument about trigger locks in crack houses is just such a falacious stand, and people see right through that. Likewise, the more they know that accidental deaths to children are wildly exaggerated, and that one cannot stop suicides, people will come to understand the real issues.

The real issue is that antis want guns banned, and most Americans don't!

I don't think you should make gun control a main issue in the campaign. I'd opt for taxes. In that argument, Gore can only say "don't cut taxes" or "we need more taxes". That's arguing from weak positions.

If there was the option of crime control, I'd vote for that. But not for gun control.

And, yes, I voted.

Joseph,
Everyones's bias is showing. Look what BBS we're posting on. I know that the antis position is a bunch of hyped up BS, but with the media as liberal as they tend to be, it's dangerous to get them talking about gun control. I say is't much better to vote for taxes, and hope the gun grabbers don't get too much free publicity from the media.
