Last week I posted how excited I was when my wife started shooting with me after many, many years.

I waited until after breakfast and then suggested we go out to the range. She balked but agreed. My plan last week worked because we quit after she had only shot fifteen rounds, but each one almost perfect, she had a taste for it.
We started off at ten yards and the picture shows the first two targets. Two very consistent ten shot strings of three inch groups. Fantastic after only the second time! She is a natural, and of course needs much smoothing out, but I don't think that she is going to have any problems with the aiming issues or flinching issues. She is left eye dominant and right handed, I found out today (i knew she was right handed, of course!)
She enjoyed it so much, she kept saying, I'll just do another five shots, another five shots, I could tell she was getting hooked. She got 90% of her shots into the black at ten yards. She then asked if we could move to the fifteen yard position and got 3 out of 5 into the black at 15 yards.
She shot 55 rounds total this time before the gun felt heavy.
She is shooting the Smith model 17 .22 six inch barrel with hogue grips.
Fairly heavy at 3 lbs. Well worn, but an action job by Bob Chow in the mid 80's. Single action at a super crisp two pounds. She is shooting single action for the first couple of months to learn the basics.
Her father was called "hawk eye" because he was a good shot, and so now she said that she wants me to refer to her as "hawk eye!
Oh, and she did try shooting the Colt OP .38 and had no problem.
Doesn't look like recoil is even going to be a problem, but we plan on sticking with the .22 for a while.
