MR's Baby Eagle

Any experience or feedback in regard to the standard 9 mm Baby Eagle in terms of accuracy, reliability or durability?

Basially a CZ-75 clone. The only two I've seen and handled were pretty nice guns, and both shot well.

They can be hand pretty cheaply, so don't pay a lot. (You can get a CZ-75B or CZ-75 Compact for pretty reasonable amounts, and I'd rather have the CZ than an MR. But if the price is right...)

Angus, I have the baby eagle but it is in the 45 caliber. It shoots well without any problems. I love how quick I can disassemble it for cleaning. It feels great in my hand. Accuracy is good but not as good as my Kimber. Of course my Kimber cost more than twice as much. I bought my baby eagle for just under $300 new.

If you're looking for a good shooter and a reliable pistol I think the baby eagle would work fine for you.

I own the Baby Eagle semi-compact in .45. I recommend this line of pistols. I have not owned a Witness or CZ, so I can't say if it is better or worse than either one. I handled both of these other lines before buying the BE. The MR has, in my opinion, a better feel. I also prefer the way it looks if that is of any benefit to you. I think it is quite accurate. I paid $400 new.

I know Tanfoglio makes the Witness and don't they also make the Baby Eagle for Magnum Research or IMI? Jim Hall
