I'm not a semi auto fan at all but for concealed carry I think semi auto is the way to go. I have a Ruger P 89. Nice gun but thick, long and heavy. I seldom ever carry it. My 9mm compact shield is what I carry. Short, thin and light. Easy to hide. Single stack mag really helps on weight. Came with to magazines, an 8 rd and a 7 rd. The 8 round fit's my hand very well, with the 7 round not so well at all. But there is an adapter you can put on the 7 rd and then it works like the 8 rd. Lot of people seem to think only 8 rds just isn't enough and go for something with a double stack magazine. I do catty one extra magazine but, doubt I'll ever need it. If I do and the fight goes past 8 rds, I've got a lot of problem's. Actually I don't believe I'll ever have to use the gun at all but, should that one remote instant jump up, I'd rather have it with me than home on the night stand! It's small, light, very concealable and I have the license for it; probably should carry it!
Really nice nice extra's about it is very low recoil and relatively inexpensive! I think I gave somewhere around $350 for it. My son has a couple Glock's and I think he like's them. But his Glock's won't do much of anything my Shield also won't do but the price is a lot higher.
