I bought his Mowrey from a member on a different board. He had picked it up a garage sale. Needed work, he had a smith replace the hammer, tumbler and all the screws , some needed to be drilled out. He then lost interest, his lose my gain. Need to get some .54 rb and make this thing smoke. Anyone have a Mowrey? Not much info about them on the web.

As Ronald Reagan always said, "Well...."

MCB,

I am not a long gun person but that is nifty.

Nice to find stuff at garage sales and such.

mowry

I have an old Mowry in 36 cal. It's in beautiful condition but the barrel is shot out. I think I know who bought out Mowry and I think they still have parts and/or can refurbish a gun. If I get any concrete info, I'll pass it along. Since this is kind of a late reply, let me know if you have found anything out about the Mowry since you posted this.

DeerCreek bought the Mowrey Gun Works .....they do not have a web site you have to call them ....last time I checked a few years ago a new Mowrey barrel was 100 bucks .
Phone for Deer Creek is ..765 525 6181

Mowrey

I love the Mowrey design. I currently have 4 of them. Three of them have steel frames in 50 and 54 caliber, one is in Bras and is 45. I have had no problems with them. If you have a brass reciever do not over load as the brass is softer and can give you problems but a normal load shoots fine. Brass framed revolvers soon shoot lose if heavy loads are used.

Let's see, it's modeled after the Ethan Allen design, was made in Olin Tx in the 60's & 70's, main spring can replaced with a Remington main, (I had to fix mine). Got nothin' else, enjoy shootin' it MCB !!!
