Moving to another State soon

I am a Texan about to move to Louisiana before the summer is out, before June is out if all goes well. What is the fastest way I can change my CHL over without having to go through a 30-60 day period and all that? I understand you can change over in Louisiana if you can demonstrate that you have taken a legally qualified firearms training course before (as I did in Texas when I got my CHL here a year ago) but they obviously need an address to put on any card.

In addition to that I would also like to get a Florida license for when traveling to Arkansas and I forsee traveling to Atlanta (via Alabama) a lot in the near future.

What is the easiest and quickest way to do this without having to give up your right to carry for a period of time?

Sad to say but doesn't look like it after consulting http://www.packing.org/state/louisiana/
They don't issue non resident licenses. You probably have to have a Louisiana DL to get a permit. Therefore getting a DL makes you a defacto resident, rendering your Texas license invalid. I don't see any legal way around having to "go naked" for a few months.

The NonResident Florida License may be the way to go but I heard that they weren't going to issue them anymore.

Maybe go back to Texas and get a non-resident after you more?

You could "lose" your Texas DL and get a replacement then when you have to turn in your DL in Lousiana to get their DL you'll still have a Texas one and can claim you're a non-resident. That's a shady way to do it and if you're near your vehicle and you've changed your plates then you might be screwed.

I think moving to a new place pretty much renders you unarmed for a while.

not issuing FL licenses? that's the first I've heard of that. Hope it is not true as I will be living very near the AK line.

Even if you can get them, you have to give you current address for it otherwise it is no good right? At least that's how the law is in Texas I believe as the police ask you (is this still you current address. Your address on your DL and CHL have to be identical and it has to be your current residience)

I can't speak to Florida non-resident CWPs, but for residents you don't have to get a new permit when you move. You just have to notify the Department of Agriculture of your new address. You can get a new card if you send in another photo and a fee ($15?), but it's not required.

Sorry I mean't AR. Yes I am moving to Louisiana. I always get AK and AR mixed up because saying AK sounds almost like saying Arkansas
