Mounts for Savage Model 10

Hey guys and gals,

Did a quick search and saw some conflicting info so just want to be sure before i order.

I just ordered a Savage 10 FCP HS and i want to get my scope mount and rings on order so they get here around the same time.

My question is, am i looking for a flat top or rounded top for the receiver? I have read that its rounded for post '03 or wheneveer accutrigger came into play.

Any help is greatly appreciated!

Not to long ago I got a new Savage 10 FCP Mac. I'm using Leupold Mark 4 steel 2-piece bases. They are rounded.
 
You're looking for a round-top. Savage quit making flat top rears about the same time they came out with the Accutrigger.
 
Round top. I used the Burris Mounts on my Model 10 Precision Carbine. You're going to love your rifle. .308? Varget was my very good friend.
 
On my 10FP I went with an EGW 20 MOA picatinny rail with Burris Zee QD rings. Had I not gone that route I would have gone with DNZ GameReapers.

I have the very same rifle. Mine loves 155 A-Max bullets and RL-15. 10 in 1 ragged hole at 100 meters with boring regularity. What scope are you going to use ? I have a Nightforce NXS 3.5-15 x 50 on mine, with Badger Rings and Badger 20 MOA base. I think you will like it.

i ended up doing a leupold vxII 4-12 and leupold rings and mounts. gun should be here on monday and hopefully everything else as well!
 
i just love the game reaper mounts the even have them with +20moa thats what im am going to on every thing i have
 
You won't be dissatisfied with that VXII 4x12x40.:) I have the very same scope on my 7mm rem mag, also mounted on leupold 2 base mounts and rings, very solid and dependable combo. I love mine,,, nice pick Coastie!!!:)
