Hi there,
I was talking to McMIllan via email -- I intend to purchas a stock for my sako.
They indicated a method of trying out different lengths of pull -- putting cardboard spacers on teh butt of my rifle and trying a few things out.
It works great.
However, it revealed that I am more comfortable with about an extra inch on the stock -- which makes it impossible to get the full picture through my scope when shooting offhand. The scope is not far off as far back as it can go.
SO basically with the standrad sako dovetail I can't take the scope back far enough. It is a leupold VX1 -- and as far as I know they are very good in terms of eye relief. I checked out a heap of more expensive brands on the net, and they do not appear to be any better.
Question:
Are there any options for mounting that might allow the scope to be move back a little further?
Not much point getting the length of pull right if I cant use the sope comfortably.
Have any of you ever encountered the same problem?
Thanks,
Matt
