Mounting Light on No-Rail AR?

What do you suggest? I don't want to add rails, I want to keep this as light as possible.

midwest industries makes a mount that you attach to the front sight.

Edit: if thats not what you want just look for a universal barrel mount flashlight.

The MI mount will work fine, as will an Elzetta mount.

I opted for a small rail piece that attaches to the bayonet lug on my Colt M-4. I forget the maker, but it secures to the lug with a setscrew. This places the light under the barrel where I prefer it to be and is easily reached to operate with a thumb or finger while holding the rifle. A new item in Sportsman Guide is a dual rail attachment from the Mako Group. Dual 45 degree rails that mount to the handguard.

You may also want to give the SOtech Universal Light Buckle a look. $13 nylon strap that lets you mount a variety of lights on the handguard.

If you have standard handguards and can stand a piece of "rail-estate", then you could look at the B.M.A.S. Rail for Rifle Handguard...
