Has anyone successfully mounted a light to their revolver? I've done quite a few searches the last few days and haven't found a satisfactory solution. I have a Streamlight TLR-2 HL that really like to use, but I'm open to other lights.
A little background, I live in the country. I'm not too concerned tactical situations, since the greatest threat in this area are animals. (Animal control is nonexistent here.) Having had to shoot a four legged threat at night, I am a big fan of weapon lights.
I can't carry my long guns everywhere I go and would like to carry a magnum revolver. I have a three S&Ws a 627, 29 and 686. Based on my experience, the lack of a light is a deal breaker for me, otherwise, I really like these three, especially the 8-shot .357. (A laser is OK, but won't work if I can't see the target.)
I also have a Glock 20 and although I prefer handling of a revolver, I'm starting to think the Glock is the best option. Either that or trade in one my revolvers for a S&W TRR-8.
Any thoughts? Is there a quality light or rail that will mount on the trigger guard?
