Motley Fool discusses CZ aquisition of Colt

A surprisingly (refreshing!) even handed article about what's going on in the firearms industry from the Motley Fool. They discuss the ramifications of CZ buying Colt and the impact it might have on the U.S. firearms industry.

Almost no politics in the article!

They say the firearms market is slowing after a 2020 feeding frenzie but it's still going strong. They also say CZG (it's the company's designation, CZ and then the word Group---foreign characters I'd have trouble reproducing here...but the full company name is in the article) is poised to make a push in military and law enforcement areas.

The article is here:

There are only 3 possibilities.

Colt will do better under CZ management.
Colt will do the same under CZ management.
Colt will do worse under CZ management.

(Colt shutting its doors and going out of business is covered under "worse )

This is all dependent on management decisions on what product to make, (and how to make them) and how well they can read their markets, both military and civilian.

Every generation of Colt management has made some big blunders in that area in the past. So have other firearms makers, from the dim past up to present day. Can CZ do better? It's possible. Will they? only time will tell.
