This is great! I recieved this email from Alicia Wadas, President and founder of MothersArms, this morning. We really NEED this so lets hope they give her a chance to speak! :)

Just a brief note to let you know that Good Morning America has invited
Mothers Arms to participate in a town hall meeting this Friday, May 12. The
program will be live from Washington, D.C. and President Clinton will be
there the first hour. There will be approximately 30 mothers in the studio
and no guarantees that I will have an opportunity to speak. I'll do my best
however to get our message out. There will be women attending from the
MMM
and SAS as well. I'm very excited that our new organization has been
called
by Good Morning America. I believe it is a strong indicator that Mothers
Arms is filling a need. And, Mothers Arms will be there to help women
protect themselves and their children long after the publicity of Mothers
Day is past.

I saw a bit of this. A 'bereaved' mother exhorting Bill the Boinker to do something about 'all the gun violence'. I was struck by a thought: most of the 'children' who are shooting victims are late teen-aged dopers and gang-bangers, not the offspring of incredibly articulate, clean-cut, white yuppie soccer-moms. One suspects that there has been careful selection by the casting editor...

Its still on now. I have the first part taped so I don't know what happened but they just said they are now going to talk to moms on both sides of the issues! I see ALicia waiting to talk :D
 
On second thought I'll watch it later, stomache not doing good after seeing Donna Dummasse ( :)) ranting how eeeevvvvvviiiillll guns are! They are not letting SAS speak too much, soccer moms get most of the air time as usual. Seems Diane Sawyer is on their side as well. I almost jumped out of my seat when the lady with the eyebrow ring said "You don't know what a childs body looks like from a 9MM" I was yelling "I know what it looks like with a .357, probably pretty similar I would imagine." Yes I am yelling at my TV like a lunatic. I think I better get my coffee and watch this later with a six pack :D.
 
You should have kept on watching. I only got to catch about 10 more min because I had to leave for work, but that ten min was worth listening to slick yabber. They let the pro gun mom's talk, and some woman from the NRA. They lady from Texas spoke first. She is the one whos family was gunned down in the luby's and was pissed because she wasn't allowed to carry her gun. So then Bull takes over again and says something about how she could be right and it would have stopped that one instance but not the hundreds of kids dying(still trying to turn that to his issue.) Then Diane sawyer talks again about how none of his laws will reduce crime. Slick speaks again and interupts about how that we should forget the crime and focus on how the next 9 largest countries put together don't lose as many kids due to gun accidents. And here is where it gets good. The woman from the NRA jumps in and slams him. She askes the mom sitting next to her(the one boo hooing about her lost child) and says did your child die due to an accident, or was it a crime. And she says a crime. So she turns on Bull and starts laying into him on how dare he say to forget about the crime.
IT was amazing. I am so glad they were stupid enough to have pro gun people there.

I did see the Atlanta FOX network morning show, and one of the MMM organizers was being interviewed by the female host. Much to my surprise, the host pointed out to the MMM lady that under the Clinton Justice Dept., using thier own figures, prosecutions for gun law violations were down. Of course the MMM organizer could not respond to that. The host was polite, but obviously not letting the MMM lady off the hook. I was surprised to see a media personality actually trying to be objective.
 
I know I was stunned. I was sitting there all hot and bothered and pissed it was an all anti gun show and all of a sudden they started introducing the pro gun people to defend us. I was amazed.
 
Marian Hammer from the NRA did a most EXCELLENT job in delivering the truth. Even got Slick Willie to stutter, stammer and admit that some gun laws don't work. I was amazed that we were given the opportunity to articulate the truth.
 
Weeeeelllll, on the 'news at noon', all they showed was Bill Clinton saying something. I don't listen to him anymore, but I noticed that they didn't have the pro-2nd speaker in a 'quick clip'.
 
Marian Hammar is one of the most hateful people I have ever met, but she is INCREDIBLY effective at getting the pro-gun message across...

Go figure.
