Mother's Arms gets some (arguably) good publicity

Hope there's no existing thread on this. I don't see one.

Friday or Saturday. Five thirty "national news". ABC, I think. The story covered the Utah chapter of Mother's Arms, who held a rally/protest type thing at the state capitol in Salt Lake City (I think), to protest the upcoming MMM march on Wash, DC. As you know, Mother's Arms is a group of women (mothers) and their supporting families, who are for freedom, and against gun control and the deaths that gun control costs. The story overall was OK - not bad for just ONE state's Mother's Arms rally - imagine if they covered each of 50 states- that gives me the warm & fuzzies. But an inordinate amount of time (I think) of the segment was on the rebuttal to the rally, which consisted of ONE lady they could find who was in favor of gun control. They showed her standing with a sign with 2 or 3 other people total, protesting the pro-gun rally.

This is what the gun lobby needs- coverage of people positively involved with firearms other than NRA officials, hunters, and men in flannel shirts. Not that there is anything wrong with any of the above.

Alicia Wadas, the founder, is one sharp cookie.

Go to her web site www.mothersarms.org
and join (male or female) and tell others about her organization.

Be aware, however, that she is aiming at those who are rather squeamish about guns, and so, she is using a very soft approach.

For clarification, I e-mailed Alicia Wadas, founder of Mothers Arms. She tells me that the group involved was not Mothers Arms but WAGC.

Alicia wants MA to focus on the great unwashed, and will likely not be involved in the MMM counter demonstration (at least officially) as representing MA.

MA is designed to take the hand of the curious gunphobe and walk them through the steps of understanding what this issue is about.

MA is about "choice" in protecting one's family. A firearm is not for everyone, and she does not wish to push it on them.

Go to www.mothersarms.org and see what she is doing. She would appreciate the feedback.
