Hi all, are there some hotel chains that are not anti gun, ones that do not ban handguns? Any suggested motels on rt 95 North Carolina?
thanks
Bruce

Must be your region, I've not seen an anti handgun motel.

In fact if they were to post a sign stating such?? I will find another place to take my money.

If no other place within reasonable distance?? I shall ignore their "policy"

I did not have any issues but wont stay at a motel that is known to ban guns. Was just wondering if anyone had any bad experiences.

I don't see why it would be any of their business.

I've never had any one ask, and I never felt the need to tell them.

I've traveled for work over 15 years and have never even seen one sign or posting mentioning "no guns".

What hotel are you talking about?

In any case what Mr CajinBass said applies.

We stayed at a casino/hotel in Tunica, MS last year and it had a big, prominent sign as you came through the door stating no guns were allowed on the premises. Don't know if was done elsewhere in town. I don't know what their goal is with this policy but I was carrying and I simply ignored the sign. No idea if the sign carried the weight of law or just their policy. Either way I figured they could kiss my ass. I booked the room online and there was NOTHING on the website about surrendering my Second Amendment rights by staying in their hotel. To spring that little bit of info on arriving folks who have already paid in advance is bovine droppings in my book.

Last April the wife and I toured the country for 3.5 months and almost 17 thousand miles. We stayed in motels every night. We stayed at Holiday Inns, Best Westerns, and Comfort Inns. We had a couple of shotties in cases with us during our trip. We would load everything on the luggage dolly and never had a problem where ever we stayed. Never saw any "no firearms" signs as well. We didn't ask and didn't advertise.

Different states have different C.C. regulations. Some state's allow business owners to opt out of concealed carry costumers by posting a sign stating such. You had better review your state's regulations relative to concealed carry...in Michigan, if you are caught carrying in places that do not allow, you can kiss your concealed carry license good-bye.
Here in Michigan, we cannot carry in churches (I don't go there anyway), Dr.'s offices, hospitals, bars that do not serve food, sports stadiums, and Post offices (likely Federal restriction).

I am with others - I've never seen any such sign (at any hotel/ motel in which I've stayed). In NC, private property owners have the right to ban guns - they actually do not have to post this. But, this does NOT carry the force of law. All they can do, if they find out that you have firearms on their property, is ask you to leave (or remove the firearms from the premises). If you refuse, they can have the police remove you as a trespasser - but that does NOT constitute a firearms violation - only a simple misdemeanor trespass charge. Obviously, if someone made an issue about it, it would be stupid to let it go that far - so the whole legal issue is easily avoided.

I don't think I've seen any business in NC with a "no guns" sign for many years - basically ever since CC became legal. Of course there are places illegal to carry here, just as in most/ all other states. It's stupid to tempt fate by carrying in such places - and I never do that. But, if carrying concealed, just don't advertise it and it likely never will become an issue (for places in which it is legal to carry, whether or not the owner cares).

Maybe a list of one's thatare, and don't allow guns on their property would be shorter. Do you have experience with any, or asking before you go?
In my experience I really haven't noticed any signs at any motel I've stayed in.

Concealed carry is just that..."concealed" and they don't know anything about it. It's the parking lot that it will protect you from.

I took my 10/22 and My Mosin into a Sleep Inn, I believe ,when I went to my first Appleseed, even the ammo, heck, the front desk lady even had a conversation with me about her 20 Gauge shotgun.

Unless you can name some, I think you are assuming that there are. As many have replied, I have not seen any, ever. ....

Now then, when you throw a casino into the mix, that is a different story. I think you can pretty much count on ones that have adjacent casinos or even the presents of gambling, having such a ban. I know and accept that ours do and not wise to test those waters. ..... ;)

In our state's early years of River Boat gambling, our conservation group, use to have there banquets on the boats. We had firearm auctions and raffles. In short time, this came to a screeching halt and we they could no longer hold such events. They apologized and stated that the decision was not theirs but from a higher authority. Even thought their service and food was super, we moved on. ......

Be Safe !!!
