Out of all the guns I've owned over the years I'm pretty sure that Glock has been the most troublefree followed by HK...Maybe fewer parts really does mean fewer problems...Which pistol brand has given you guys the least amount of problems ??

It would have been nice if you had included Colt in the poll (and possibly revolvers). It would have been a little more discriminating than the "Other" category.

Troublefree

My SIG P220's have been totally troublefree and one has over 15000 rounds through it. However, the Makarov's are equally free of problems and one has 23,000 rounds used and is still going strong. On a value basis that is probably as good as it gets.

Actually, the most trouble free pistol I have is my Walther P5!!! :)
Even mighty Gaston has choked once or twice!!!!!
My Ruger P95 finally retched after eating to many wolves!!! :barf:
I found out that my Russian friend hates Chinese food. :(
Karl Walther remains the only omnivore!!!!! :D

There is something to be said for...

the total and utter simplicity and reliability of a TC Contender or Encore...

they ALWAYS go bang...

I had a SigSauer P228 and CZ-75B that were literally 100% reliable. Several Glocks that varied from 99.9%-100% with varying round counts. My Delta Elite is very reliable NOW, and probalby has the highest trouble-free round count of them all, but that was after being repaired for eating an extractor. :D

My ancient P210 is perfectly reliable, but I only feed it moderate amounts of ball ammo. My S&W 610 revovler had to have the firing pin replaced, so it was actually more trouble for the amount of rounds put through it than most of the semi-autos. Go figure.

I've owned at least one of each of the above, except a Sig, and none of them were troublesome.
The only troublesome guns I've ever owned were from 2nd string manufacturers or imported from China.

Glock owners-

you dont consider the large amount of Kb's to be a reliability factor? I'm not trying to pick a fight or anything but i do think that would be an issue. (at least in my book)

Strapped,

To the best of my knowledge, Ka-booms are only recorded in any quantity with the .40 S&W guns, and that situation has largely been rectified.

Other calibers were not affected.

Strapped with HKs,

I've owned 5 .40 cal Glocks. None have blown up. I have never seen a .40 cal Glock blow up, except on the Internet. I just don't see that as that likely an event based on real life experiences. I've no doubt it happens. I've no doubt that folks sometimes get hit by lightning or win the lottery, too, but I've never seen it happen to anyone I know.

For that matter, a Federal alphabet agency I know of has recently sent their agents at a local office to go buy Remington Golden Saber. Apparently, the Gold Dot ammo they were using blew up three of their .40 SIGs.

Anybody can make a bad lot of ammo. Any gun can explode.

My Browning HP, a Mk III 9mm, has proven more reliable than my G17, which has burped a couple of times. And my Les Baer Premier II has yet to jam, though round count is less than my BHP. I have a "Pre-Model 27" S&W .357 which has fired tens of thousands of rounds with nary a problem - first in my dad's hands, and now in mine - but then, that's a revolver.
It would have been nice if you had included Colt in the poll...
Maybe Colt will be included in the poll that asks for the most troublesome pistol available . . . ;)

The only pistols that I have had zero problems with are my Ruger SRH, Glock 21, and my Beretta 92

I had a few FTFs with my G30 right after I got it, but since then it has been problem-free (a few hitches when shooting my questionable handloads through my tight KKM barrel).

My G17 will regularly give me problems, the slide has not been staying open after the last shot and a few Stovepipes every now and then.

My beloved Ruger Luger was having difficulties with spent cases getting caught in the recess area, so I called Ruger and they sent me a new bolt NQA, so we'll see how she does.
