Most frustrating thing about gun control.

We have all heard about the cases where the supreme court has ruled that the constitution or any other part of documented American "rights" does not guarantee personal safety, which is true, it only limits the government.

But this is where I get angry.

The government, MAKES it self a needed part of everyday life.
First by restricting/controlling essential tools needed for adequate self preservation (firearms).

Then, outlawing other tools, or atleast the process of carrying them. (knives)

A couple years of punishment, either by means of incarceration, probation, house arrest, or other forms of detentions.

The threat of high dollar court fee's also, and the cost of a good lawyer.

In other words, you/me (the general populous) are at total mercy to the government. They give us a few elections, which yes does help to an extent, but for the most part they (politicians) are all the same, it's like looking at a set of knives an picking the smallest one to stab yourself with.

I dont put total blame on the local law enforcers, because they are given a set of laws, and processes that they must follow or else they are out of jobs.
But by not refuting or rejecting to enforce some of the laws they infact are part of the problem, and their sherrifs and/or police chiefs are just another knife in the set to choose from.

So they turn themselves into the main source of defence/protection by means of laws and the threat of extreme punishment, yet they are not legally bound by anything to help us. So if they ever fail to protect someone, blame cannot be laid upon the police. Because afterall, defense is a responsibility the person seeking defense must undertake.

The gun grabbers, and the people that support them... make me furious beyond words, I mean... I've never heard of such a plan!

Plan: Disarm the general populous, put our defense and livelyhood into the hands of people that dont even know us, nor have any legal obligation to help us!

WHAT IN THE !!!!!! COME ON!!!

This does not apply to all American citizens because your state may be more free for the time being. But it does to Americans that live in states like CA, MA, NY, NJ and all the other ones where blame for human action/inaction is set on inanimate objects. (read on the news that the mayor of Boston blames the surge in murders on Guns!!)

I'm probably going in circles here with the government gaining too much power, and gun grabbers, it's just that I have so much going through my head, and I dont know how to let it all out.

Unlike good scribes like XavierBreath, USP45usp, and Wildalaska (although I conflict with him a lot) I have trouble putting thoughts down into text.

So I think I'll stop here.
Your input would be greatly appreciated.

So much of what you said is true. However, I DO blame our law enforcers for a lot of the things that happen.

First, EVERY ONE OF THEM swears to uphold the laws. Yet how many of them in high positions attempt to CHANGE the laws? That's not upholding, that's activism whle using the name of authority as a backdrop. And that's just plain wrong.

Second, look at how many of the on-the-street LEO don't care about the general citizenry. The thin blue line, Code of silence, etc. are all euphamisms to describe police conduct to protect police at the expense of the populace. It's an indication of their mindset. All for US and none for them what relies on us.

Next, LEO is supposed to know the laws they are charged with enforcing. ONE officer who fails to uphold the protection of the innocent in order to keep his cushy job is excuseable. So are 2 or 3. Maybe even 2 or 3 hundred. However, when it's prevalent among the entire force then it's an abomination and perversion of the duties they are sworn to. It's a thing called honor and integrity and most of the thugs that are being made into police officers these days don't have any.

But LEO issues aren't the whole problem. It's only the visible result of the real problem. The REAL problem is that our society doesn't look ahead. We have no thinkers or visionaries.

All we have are band-aid artists who follow the rule of knee jerk reaction. Tragedy? Well now; just write a new law and it's all better. What a joke.

The liberal/left knows very well that "gun-control" doesn't help with crime. It's a smokescreen for the true agenda - more socialism. They have plans for America, that they know we won't like. They fear that the armed citizen won't stand for it (and rightly so), thus their goal of total civilian disarmament.

They don't see us as individuals, just as a member of a group. If an individual gets killed, raped, or robbed, well that's too bad, the same way an ant hill doesn't care if an ant gets squashed.

Rebar, you have it right!

Rebar is 100% dead on target with his comments. The socialist political movement in this nation wants autocratic rule - total control of We The People with no accountability.

While the Republican party of late is no shining beacon of Constitutional governance, the Democratic party is the embodiment of socialism. The people who have wormed their way to the top in the Democratic National Party are Dyed in the wool pure socialists.

There can be no doubt that people like the Clintons, the Kennedys, Schumer, Feinstein, Pelosi, the Bradys and others who are cut from the same cloth are socialists - AKA Demosocialists - who seek to disarm We The People and rule over us with absolute authority.

Socialism is the direct opposite of everything the Constitution and Bill of Rights stands for. Socialism demands We The People sacrifice our Bill of Rights in exchange for autocratic rule by "experts" who answer to no one.

You like freedom? You like your rights? You want to keep yopur guns??
Socialism - and the Democratic party - are the enemy, plain and simple.

I can't state it any more plain than that.

The way the electorate is set up, only the 2 parties can compete. I would venture to guess that almost 80% of Americans are fed up with just those choices! Of course, the ones that make the rules, rule, so change won't happen! What has happened in US politics is what the founding fathers feared! We have a ruling class! Supreme Court making laws, Congress subverting the Constitution, sacrificing liberty in the name of safety! Subversion of individuality for collective generics! Political correctness has run amok! America is trying to pander to everyone, serving no one! American politics is a jellyfish! It has no spine, and goes where the immediate current carries it! Demand the UN pays us what is due and kick them out of NYC. Forgive previous loans to all countries and lend no more. Open up the Gulf coast and East coast and Alaska to oil drilling, enact a flat income tax, drop all taxes on income, necessities, and tax incentives for corporations. Level the playing field! Secure our borders, free up intrastate commerce and travel. Scrutinize the incoming, not the American citizen. Simplify the laws, enforce the Constitution. All this goes against the reasons for members of Congress to justify their being! The sole reason of Congress is to enact laws. After 200+ years and millions of laws passed, will we ever STOP making new laws about what WE CAN'T do? Our founding fathers set up a system giving "rights" to the people, limiting government intrusions. The way it is now, the government is set up to give "rights" to the government, limiting individual "rights". it is only a matter of time until we fall to a nation of secularism and socialism. Congress does not learn from the expeiriences of Australia, Great Britain, France, Canada, etc.. Limiting freedoms makes a society less free. I could hook up Benjamin Franklin's grave to my house and never have another utility bill, he's spinning so fast!

rebar +1

Chairman Mao said that political power flows from the barrel of a gun. They want to be the only ones who have political power.
