so out of these shotguns which one reigns supreme in quality/reliability/performence(leave price out)

-mossberg 590a1

-benelli supernova tactical

-remington 870 police magnum

The Mossberg and Remington are the most ubiquitous of the group, and all are fine guns. The deciding factor should be whether the shooter requires left-hand or ambidextrous operation, as the Mossberg is better setup for that role. Otherwise, I would vote Remington (slightly more aftermarket and easier to run various stock configurations if the shooter wishes, e.g. pistol grip). The controls on the Remington seem much better for running something like a Knoxx.

An 870 works just as well for a left handed person. Easier to hit the action release with my left index finger than it is for a righty to reach around the trigger guard to actuate it.

Safety can be disengaged by reaching under with the left middle finger and pushing.

Flip a coin, honestly. There is no difference between them based on your stated criteria. They do have different controls and will fit differently. Buy the one that fits and works best for YOU.

All tied up with the 870 and 590! I voted with my knowledge and experience; I used to have five 870s and now not a one. Burned once with Rem customer 'service', I buy only Mossberg pumps and semi-autos and Stoeger SxS and O/Us.

Never had a glitch with my 590A1 (or my battered and beloved Mav 88 for that matter) and prefer it's tang safety and fore-end release.
