I have a mossburg 702 plinkster I want to do some work on. The stock is very very light is there any way to make it heavyer?
How do I free flote the barrel? Should I?
How do I install a picatinny rail?simple as I'm thinking?
Thx for thehelp

I own one as well,,,

One of the many things I like about it is the lightweight stock.

But I have read where people have filled the hollow stock with air-soft pellets Then secured them from rattling with a thin glue mixture.

The butt plate comes off and you can see where it could be easily filled.

Just a thought,,,

It was the unbalencedness that I didn't like. Too muzzle heavy,
I wanted to make the forend more rigid, it felt like it would flex enought to touch the barrel.
Do you have problems with reasmbling it after cleaning?

A long gun should balance about 2" in front of the trigger guard, or within a few inches of it. If it doesn't, then one could add some type of counterweight as mentioned.

I used some bondo to fill the stock.
Was messy
Still looking for a replacement to the 5/8 dovetail scoop mount
Any one know if someone makes a weiver style scoop mount with a dovetail cut in the bottom? Something low enough to still be able to use the iron sights
