Kinda falling out of love with the XS sights on my Mossberg 590A1.....wish I opted for the bead sight instead now. How hard is it to take that front sight off?

It depends if there is a screw holding that sight ramp on under the main sight.

I think it's silver soldered on........
The ramp is silver soldered onto the barrel- but is the bead threaded or pressed into the front sight base? Look closely at the base of the XS Bead and see if you can see any exposed threads, or if you can see a crimp on the base (as some beads are crimped in as opposed to threaded).

I wanna take off the whole ramp. The XS sights on my Rem. 870 Tactical aren't as high as they are on the 590A1.

Took care of it......took off the rear rail and sight, then ground down the front ramp. Ordered a new bead from Midway........headache over!
