Mossberg SSI?

Has anyone seen/handled or shot one of these?

What are your impressions?

I like the concept and the fact that it comes in .308.
Don't like the fact that it has no sites on it though.

However, is it better than a Ruger #1?

Thanks,

I beleive that Mossberg has kinda stopped trying to sell those. They were introduced about a year or two ago and never seemed to get out. Mossberg has seemed to have really slowed down lately in everything.

But...

NEF/H&R 1871 makes an single shot rifle that is chambered in .308 and many other calibers and they are probably priced much better that the Mossbergs.

I know that is not the answer you are looking for, but you probably aren't going to find anyone that has an SSi.

I hear good things about the NEF's.
A little rough but the accuracy was reported to be good and the price is something you can't complain about.

I hope Mossberg isn't in trouble. I still need a 590.

Will probably go with a Ruger though.

Thompson could be an option but I don't like the grip set-up.
