Mossberg on the "safety lock" bandwagon

Does anyone know if Mossberg has jumped on the "safety" lock bandwagon with Remington and several of the other firearms manufacturers and modified their designs to have the more PC internal lock?

I want a new 20 ga pump but I don't want a lock on it that I didn't put on it myself.

Not sure about Mossberg but it is no big deal to swap out the safety on the new 870's to an old one.
Even so, I chose to buy two used 870's and send a complaint to Remington telling them why I bought used.
If you buy a Mossy, and you can spare a moment, it would be good for all of us if you could drop Remington a line and tell what you did and why.
You could also send a note to Mossberg explaining the same thing. Or better yet, one letter which copies both companies!

Mossy was one of the first on the wagon...

For at least the last 10 years or so Mossy has provided/offered for sale, their cablelock.

Probably the best way to secure a weapon, since it is not a mechanical safety, rather a lock that prevents the weapon from going into battery.

On the flip side I think by them having a proven track record of offering/providing a "locking" mechanism, they've saved themselves from the pressure to actually screw with the gun's design.
