Any actual experience? I am lusting after one and thinking of getting one. Will it shoot as good as my Savage .223? I wish savage made one like it.

Have not shot one, but heard a lot of good things. they take AR mags, and They look awful sharp too!

The only thing i dont like about them is the bolt has a hinged lip that strips the round out of the mag. It wouldnt stop me from getting one but it seems like a potential fail point.

The only one I have handled felt like there was sand binding up the bolt. If that rifle was an indication of what they all feel like, I would never own one.

Hmmmm. My Savage is smooooooooth as butter. I guess I would like to handle one before I throw down money.....

I also handled one at Bass Pro and was less than impressed with the action. VERY rough. I did like the stock and fluted barrell. Very light and handy rifle.

Every magazine I have works better than the factory mag. The bolt is highly operator dependent. I'm diabetic, so I tend to stress test more than I should.
The bolt hasn't broken. The predator is a cruising rifle for such varmints as you may encounter on the mesa or high plains. It fits right in a battery of classic varmint guns like 600 Mohawks.

I wouldn't let the bolt being rough deter me from buying one. Work it back and forth 500 or so times, polish it, put a little grease on it, it'll be ok.

I have the Predator (18.5" barrel). The bolt action is a bit rough, but its commensurate with the price range of the rifles. It is a handy "scout" rifle type gun in 5.56. Lots of fun to shoot and mine will shoot sub MOA with handloads.

MVP Varmint 24" barrel, 5 round mag

I bought one last week, installed a Nikon Prostaff BDC 4X12X40 took it to the range and fired a few rounds. I was able to Zero after my 12th round using the Nikon Spot On app. The bolt was very stiff, having a hard time cycling through a round. It probably requires a good cleaning. I just ran a bore snake through the barrel, wiped the bolt clean, drop of oil here and there and took it out shooting. It's a shooter though!! A friend gave me 4 20 round military magazine. It cycles a little better than the magazine it originally came with. I haven't tried shooting with it yet though. Hopefully this weekend when the weather permits.

Yeah, the MVP 18.5" with a 20 rd box, fluted barrel, maybe the camo finish has a look to it that is appealing. With ammo costs up like they are, .223 is getting second looks from me as a practice and GP round (of sorts) too.

The "flappy paddle" lip on the bolt appears a "Achilles heel" but certainly the Mossy designers considered that and the flange thing must be engineered to be strong. Time will tell I guess. Every thing I read says the dang things will shoot.
