This model caught my eye, but I don't need the stainless with marinecote. Can someone tell me the model number for the same gun but with a parkerized finish?

TIA,

But it has the GR sights.

A true 590 "A-1" will have metal safety tab and alloy trigger group housing.

A thicker (read as HEAVIER) barrel as well...

May I ask what sent you seeking the 590 over the 500?

Be sure if you seek the above features to research closely.

The "Mall Ninjas of COD Tacti-coolness LLC" crowd has made it screechingly clear to the folks at Mossberg that if it looks MEAN they will buy it... Thusly, many guns wearing the 590 badge are just Hi-cap flat black 500's with a double deep price tag.

Like I said, this model caught my eye; it looks similar to one my grandfather had when I was a kid. It also looks like it would be a good choice for a HD weapon. It is a half pound or more lighter than most of the other Mossy models I have seen. This is not a deal breaker for me, but would be preferred by LOML if she were ever to need use it. As many here have suggested, 6 rounds should be sufficient, unless you are a LEO. Finally, the length of 38.5" is better for HD than other models.

With all that said, I am open to a 500 model that has specs similar to the 51273. Any suggestions?

I like the look and set up of that one! I might have to add it to the short wish list i have!

Yeah, I think I will ask about it at the local gun shops. Unfortunately, I think I have used up my shooting budget this year unless I get a bunch of overtime.
