Looked for manuals online and advice on the forum with the search button, but came up empty. I'd like to crack 'er open and see what's going on inside/clean it out. Anyone have any experience with this .22?

There is not much "to see." That rifle is much like most .22 bolt actions, except that it is hammer fired rather than striker fired. Still, it is tricky enough that I don't recommend taking it down unless there is a problem. Just removing the stock and cleaning it with a good spray cleaner or dunking the action in a sonic bath should do all the cleaning necessary.

Heh... oops

Well, I learned that the hard way. It looks like whoever owned it before I did allowed a big screw that holds the barrel in place and also doubles to secure the stock to the action, to rust. It broke off inside. Luckily for me however, it broke off in such a way that still keeps the barrel in place. So that's not going anywhere. And that's where I called it quits and came to the same conclusion you advised. So thanks for that, now I don't feel like too much of a failure. Better not to screw around with it.
