Mossberg JIC (Just In Case)

They must have seen the Smith and Wesson survival kit and got the idea. I think is it sad how all these companies are trying to cash in on peoples, Katrina fears. Buy a shotgun of you choice and forget all the rhetoric of what companies say you ‘have to have.’

...

i soppose its a good idea...kind of...

In baton rogue in the post kartina days all the violence was nothing but rumors and speculation, nothing happened. And i do not see a pistol gripped shotty being THAT useful, but i soppose if you have to evacuate in a hurry then its good.

What i would like to see is a water proof kit with a few MREs, water purification tablets, first aid, fire starters, multivitamns, 500 rounds of .22LR, and a colapsible 22 rifle. that would be somthing worth keeping around the house.

That kit would have been great for the long walk down the narrow flooded streets of N.O.

I would have been more afraid of the police taking my pistol shotgun then me missing a BG with it .

That could be hidden where a full stock shotgun couldn't.

And it's at a fair price.

I want one!

I'd buy 2 or 3 and add 2 boxes of 25 shotshells to each canister. Would also throw in some MREs, aluminium foil packated water and give one canister to my parents, keep one for myself and give one to my anti-gun wife to send her a pointed message that nothing says "leave my family alone, you evil filthy pile of perverted human C#%&!" than 1oz of lead shot travelling at 1200ft/s.

Good point Narcoleptic Warrior

I am right now trying to figure out weather a 12 ga with reduced recoil loads or a 20 ga would be best for a female or older shooter.

This is a great kit to protect the gun and keep it ready.
I'll be willing to bet many shooters like myself would love to have the water tight tube for guns already owned.

+1 Narcoleptic Warrior. What good is a dry clean shotgun with soggy or NO ammo? Everything you need in a can but ammo.
On the other hand it does look rather inexpensive to store away.

Whitebb...

There looks to be plenty of room in there for ammo, plus a whole lot more.

The .pdf says that its waterproof to 40 feet, too, so with that much air in the tube your stuff will not only stay dry but float as well.

Smitty

I do like the marinecoat one. Wouldnt be a bad idea to keep it locked up in a boat. As the name says, "Just in case". Add a few 12guage flares as well as ammo.

Appears to be either/or with the knife/tool and survival kit---I'm thinkin they should include both.

Along with a flashlight w/batteries----MRE's----and a combo box 25 of shells---say like 5 slugs--5 buckshot--5 flares--and 10 birdshot.

Then you'd have something.

Even though pistol grips on a shotgun suck.

I really think this is geared for the un-experienced shooter, and for an unexperienced shooter, a pistol grip shotgun with bead sights is not the best defense/survival gun.
