Mossberg forend loose compared to Winchester

Any ideas on how to make the forend on mossberg 500 not so loose? Winchester 1200 has a steel tube which forend attaches too making it alot less loose as you pump the action.

its different from gun to gun. ive got one thats loose, and one almost tight as my mod 12.

i think the looseness is usefull where i hunt in swamps and heavy brush. nothing is able to jam it up.

not that ive ever heard of one being jammed up before.

The 500 forened rattles for a reason- the two action bars are pinned to the forend tube with one pin- so the two action bars wobble in their slots.

You could add an extra pin to prevent the wobble, but it doesn't affect functioning. Next time you pass the used rack in your local gunstore, check out an Ithaca 37, or a Wincester Model 12.
