Mossberg 930 spx?

I wanted one in the worst way. Heard it's short term reliability is an issue (needs to be spotlessly clean), is finicky with weaker ammo, and it didn't fit me anyway. Looks cool but how can the the same rear stock be used for the regular 930's sights AND the SPX's sights which are on raised sight bases? It really can't properly, can it...

I guess you could try the Urbino stock to provide better sight picture and some added features but what I really can not understand is why the likes of Mossberg and Remington do not redesign their tactical autos so tactical and adjustable recoil reducing stocks can be used. That would easily compete with Benelli and at least some percentage of the Saiga's, etc.

SPX isn't what I would want for a HD/SD weapon, a 930 Combo is what I chose, 2 barrels, cheaper than the SPX and the extra barrel lets you go shoot clays if you want. I spent the extra money on a Nordic extension, screw in chokes and a tritium front sight for the 18 1/2" barrel:

Sure it can. The stock is adjustable for rise and drop. I had to make mine perfect as well. Love it now.

I will definitely keep mine loaded for HD when I move to the new house. Mine runs perfectly for over 100 rounds between cleanings, and this is all types of ammo. 100 or more rounds between cleanings-and this was all I had with me on both occasions, who knows how long it would have went? But I clean my guns faithfully after every range session. And since I'm looking to simply defend my home and not go to war, I'll take that as a fine shotgun.

I have pushed mine to over 1000 rds between cleanings, heading to the farm right now with one to shoot clays with one that has over 1000 thru it since its last cleaning, it is one dirty animal but it keeps one cranking out rounds.

Nice shotgun, cowboy. I'm looking at the combo myself. Did you add the night sight pictured in post #4 and if so, what is it?
