Mossberg 930 problem/help/advice

Hey TFL got a question. I have a few shotguns and my newest purchase was a Mossberg 930SPX..Now ive read and studied a little about it so ive been cycling hotter loads through it (about 200 of buckshot and nitro mag) yet my damn shotgun still will not cycle universal loads. The odd thing was it seems to cycle it sometimes when I first start shooting but then it wont at all. It either fails to fully eject or the bolt doesnt even attempt to eject the shell. Military 00 buck, Slugs, and Super X feeds flawlessly. Wal Mart federal and winchester bulk target loads as well as LE ranger low recoil 00 buck doesnt feed at all. Do you all who have experience with Mossberg Autos have any advice or is something wrong with it? Thanks all

First, strip and clean your shotgun, Mossberg is notoriuos for using a packing grease that once it heats up it gets "gummy"... since yours will work for a little while berfore it starts messing up, my guess is there is still some of this grease left-over somewhere...

Strip the gun down completely, even take off the stock and clean the spring in the recoil tube, clean with a good degreaser, when you re-assemble make sure to give everything a light coat of CLP or Rem-Oil and wipe off any excess. Make sure that the outside of your mag tube doesn't have any carbon build up and that the slide tube moves freely.

Take out and clean your piston, make sure your rings are offset 180 degrees, take a paper clip and make sure your gas ports are clean and not fouled by some left-over wad material.

Take it to the range and fire at least 100 rounds of whatever you choose, just make sure that it is at least 1 oz and at least 1250 FPS...

I would guess that 99.9% of the Mossberg 930's problems of not ejecting shells are due to cleaning, lubrication, and break-in.....

My 930's will shoot the Remington 7/8 oz "Game & Target" loads all day long..

FWIW, low recoil Winchester Ranger does not cycle in my gun either - Mossberg is pretty explicit about this gun requiring hotter ammo. I've never had a problem with any other "standard" ammunition.
