Mossberg 9200 "jungle gun" vs. Remington 1187 Police

I handled the 1187 today and I am not all that sure I want it anymore. Will fire it tomorrow and have more info.

Has anyone used the 9200 JG? What's the stock config on it, reliability, etc.?

Oleg,

That's wierd, must be a fit issue, What was it about the 1187 that turned you off? I handled an 11-87 SPS Friday and it felt like it fit me better than the Beretta 391 Urika (outta the box, I know I can adjust it, but haven't had the chance to play with it). Felt nicely balanced too. I really want to fire them both to see which I will end up with...Mine wil be mostly for trap but some hunting as well.

Keep us posted

Oleg, another poster here waived me off of the JG. :) :) :)I was hard-headed about it, but I got four snap caps and asked the dealer if I cold manipulate them through the action. Bottom line was, it's awkward to operate efficiently if you are right-handed. It's a Royal pain in the @#$ for a southpaw! :( PLEASE, do this same hands-on for yourself. I will be going for a Benelli when I finally pull the trigger on a SG purchase.

Just buy a Benelli if you have the $$ & you won't be sorry. Bottom line: Nothing beats good Italian craftmanship at its best.

Here we go again, another person showing blind devotion to the Benelli :0). Obviously you didn't read the previous thread that Oleg started about the 11-87.

I fired the jungle gun and also found it awkward to operate. It has this weird button on the left side that you have to push in order to load the magazine. Seemed pointless to me, and quite awkward.

Recoil was fairly soft and muzzle rise was manageable. Definitely softer recoiling than a Benelli M1S90

I haven't had the chance to try an 1187, unfortunately.
