Looking through the website and many different search engines,
I am in search of a 28" cyl bore barrel in Mossy Oak breakup for my 835 Ulti MAg 12 Gauge.

If you have any info regarding where i may be able to find one, please post
it for me.

thanks for reading,

Tony

Hello, I will keep my mouth shut if you have already handled a long barrel in a 835. However, if you have not, consider that the barrel is a 10 guage bore, and it is definetly heavier than a normal diameter 12 guage barrel. Thus, a shorter barrel will give you the same momentum to keep your follow through on ducks/pheasants. My experience with 835 barrels longer than 24 inches is that in balance they are front heavy.

28"barrel

Hello123, Thanks for your reply.
I called The company (mossberg) today and talked to them for quite some time over the characteristics and test shot patterns between a 24 and 28 barrel configuration on an 835 Ulti mag. They sent me some info, pics, and test patterns between the 24 and 28 inch.
Well, needless to say, i was amazed over the data sent back. Not only that, but i as well got to handle one today in a local store exactly as i am trying to attempt to build, but as well side by side with a 24' barrel.

Not to mention that both a 24 and 28 inch barrel are both overbored to
10 guage so it really wont matter with either one as long as the correct chokes are used for the application needed with type of shot used.

I see what you mean. There is one tradeoff between a 24 and 28 inch barrel. Weight & balance. More weight and less balance. After the handling and all the info i was sent today, i know I am going to stay with my current configuration. I should just as well be happy with what i have.
why fix it if it isnt broken???

Thanks for your reply and i appreciate your input.

V/R,
