Does anyone remember this gun?
And more importantly was it a good well made reliable gun?

Any input will be appreciated.

From what I can find on the 'net, it was a Model 500 made for a chain or company.

"The Mossberg (New Haven) 600 AT is essentially the same as the Mossberg 500. The differences are the 500 has a firing pin spring, and the action bars on the 600 can only be removed by removing the magazine tube."

I think the firing pin spring returns the pin to neutral. I have a 500 20 gauge without spring and a maverick 88 with one.
It is the hammer spring that drives pin forward. Pin is not "cocked", the hammer is...

If it was a 500"type", it was reliable... Is it dual action bars or just single? That was a slight weakness in durability and reliable operation, thus mossberg went to twin bars on all the pumps.
Have you learned to field strip it yet?
I will post some pics of my internals and a video link for a cleaning video. You can compare the guts of a 20 year old 500 and a 3 year old Maverick pump... if near identical I say "BULLETPROOF"

Field strip, no, not yet. It was purchased new in very early '80's.

I would really like to see the photos and video of the gun.

Sounds very good.

On left is Maverick 88 items with firing pin... on right a 500 without.

Spring is visible at bottom of bolt.

This is same items just 180* around. Now 88 bolt is on right and spring at top.
