Mossberg 590sp sights.....

I`m getting a mossy 590sp and would like to get something like Hi-viz, or Tru-glo. Anyone tried either of these two on a 590?? I`m looking at the ones that just snap on, and slide right up to the existing bead sight....Opinions welcome

Years ago they did on the old Wingmasters, I don't know about the ones made today. hpg

Yes LSU12ga, 870 beads unscrew. Stock size on a 870 is supposed to be 5/40, however the brass bead is smaller on some barrels and you must drill and tap the barrel to make it 5/40. This should probably be done by a gunsmith, unless you have a drill press, vise and a way to level/square the barrel. Some green Loctite should be used also.

what are you going to do with it? If you need that kind of accuracy with a shotgun you probably want something more than snap-on. Otherwise if you're shooting trap you're not even going to be looking at it. I made that mistake with my Mossy... I got a tru-glow that screws in to the bead screw hole and lights up all nice, but I never look at the damn thing when shooting trap so it's a total waste.
