Mossberg 590A1 Weak firing pin?

I took a shotgun course and out of the 200 rounds I had about 10 clicks instead of bangs. Judging by the shotgun shell spent casings the firing pin hit the primer slightly off center plus the dent was very shallow. I compared it with my buddy's casing which were fired from his 870 and his dents were centered and deep.
The way I see it I have two choices. Buy a new bolt assembly or send it to a gunsmith.
Can anyone help me either find the part or find a good gunsmith?
I have tried to look online but I cannot find anything. I wrote an email to Mossberg but its been 3 weeks and they have yet to respond.
I appreciate any assistance.

Did you check the depth of the primers? Many times, especially when using cheap promo loads, the primers get set too deep, resulting in light primer strikes.

Otherwise, check your firing pin spring and the firing pin itself, either might be a little worn. Another possibility is a little gunk build-up in the bolt preventing the firing pin from fully moving forward every time. Most of those are minor fixes and easy to do

I noticed that this week actually, looking at the spent shells(mine all fired however) the pin hit off center every time but still was enough for a bang

Do not bother emailing Mossberg. Call them direct. I would suggest either first thing in the morning (when they open) or roughly 30 minutes prior to closing...unless you like long waiting times.

Have you checked Brownells?
