Mossberg 500E .410 Problem

Alright fellas, I'm having a problem I have not yet experienced. I have a Mossberg 500E pump .410 that I've had for years, it was my first gun actually passed down from my grandmother. It's slayed a many of squirrels and I want it to keep on doing it. The problem: when the pump is slid forward and locked, ready to shoot, it can now be pulled back over a 1/2 in. The whole assembly comes back with it and disengages the firing pin. The pump can be pushed back forward and the firing pin will be re engaged. Has anybody had this problem before? Anyone wanna take a stab at a diagnosis? Will attach pictures to further explain.
