Mossberg 500

I own a Mossberg 500 in 20 gauge. Is there a way to increase magazine capacity? I can only find drums for 12 gauge. Thanks

No way that I can think of. Extended Mag tubes, even if they come in 20 ga. , can't be hooked on the Mossy 500 because of how they have you screw on the barrel. And the only drum mags I've ever seen are for 12 ga. I think they were by a company named Knoxx, we are thinking of the same thing right?

I'm assuming you're thinking about self defense here. On the bright side though, 5+1 capacity ain't that bad. A whole lot of shotgunners get by with one less round via the stock Rem 870.
Besides all that ammo makes a gun heavy and slow, in my mind things like that have always been more for kicks and giggles than practical use. But of course to each his own.

Sincerely,
Adam

While a couple of my 870s sport extended mags, the fact remains that if one empties a 4 or 5+1 round shotgun employed effectively in a crisis, he/she needs backup more than a few more bananas in the bunch.

If one utilizes good training and tactics, has a stock US made pumpgun and reliable ammo, the 6th perp will likely have other things on his mind than whether the shotgun that just "Rehabilitated" 5 of his cohorts is empty or not.

True, but the "Cool Factor" has killed lots of folks, and oft the wrong ones. I'd rather be thought uncool and not assuming ambient temperature....

Here's my two cents, if you need more than 5 or 6 rounds of 00 buck(or whatever your favorite load) then it's time to be thinking about falling back and letting the cavalry come to the rescue. Or, start setting off claymores and tossing some frags.

C'mon Dave the cool factor can never be underemphasized. Right now I'm combing the second hand stores looking for a white linen jacket to go with my PG shotgun.

I've already thrown away my socks and razor.

(Everbody hum the Miami Vice theme!) :D

Why not try a TacStar sidesaddle? 00 buck 3" mag-1 in the pipe, 5 in the tube, 6 on the side. My 500 looks way cool...combo pistol grip & buttstock, ghost ring sights on 181/2" shrouded barrel, & the sidesaddle. Just a thought.:)

6 rounds is good, 8 or 9 is better......One hopes you never need to fire one, but I always figured, once I had no other option, the more lead I can throw the better off I am....12 guage Mossberg "special purpose" (8 rounds of 00buck, 3" magnum, 15 pellets per, sidesaddle for 6 more rounds) aughta keep their heads down, until I can grab the CM-11 carbine (4 32 round clips fulla Black Talon +P+) and/or the SKS (4 30 round clips, including the "special" one w/ alternating AP and incindiary rounds)...I guess if THOSE 250 or so rounds haven't stopped them, I'm SERIOUSLY screwed!

Seriously, a 6 round shotgun is good defense weapon, nonetheless....The sidesaddle is a good, inexpensive solution..just in case!!!

The sidesaddle might not work because the shell holders are meant for 12 ga. shells and the 20's might not even fit or fall out during firing. I've heard even 12 ga. shells can fall out when firing on those things.

Sincerely,
Adam
