Mossberg 500 vs 590

What exactly is the difference in the Mossberg 500 and the 590?? Does the 590 warrant the aproximately 150 - 200 buck price increase over the 500?

the 590 A1 has a heavy barrel & a bayonet mount
It should also have a metal trigger housing
& holds more shells

a 590 with a bayonet is 229 dollars more frightening then a 500

My parkerized 9-shot 590A1 (Item #51660) is only $179 more frightening than a blued 6-shot 500. Also predrilled for sight and sling mounts; metal safety and trigger guard. Bayonet lug=conversation piece (knock on wood).
