Mossberg 500 tactical stock

I have a short barreled Mossberg 500 with all the standard furniture. For me, it seems that the standard stock is 2 or 3 inches too long and my 65 yr. old shoulder is a little recoil sensitive. I tried a nice foam rubber boot extension on the butt, but now it's even a little longer than before.
I've looked at stocks that have a nice 6 position length of pull adjustment as well as a nice AR style grip, which I think I favor, but either have no rubber butt pad or one that looks like rubber but feels like hardwood.
I found a stock made by Hogue that looks pretty much like the original, but is 3 inches shorter and has a wonderful soft recoil pad.
I still think the AR style grip would make things perfect for me, but can't seem to find one that also offers shorter length of pull and a great recoil pad.
Any suggestions, or should I just settle?
Thanks for any suggestions.

I don't like "tactical" stocks, particularly on Mossbergs. They make the safety and slide release controls almost impossible to use without taking your hand off the stock. I find that with the standard stock it points like, well, a shotgun; smooth and natural. With a PG stock it handles like a rifle and that's not a compliment.

I'd recommend that you get your current stock shortened to fit you and that you install a Limbsaver or Kick Eez pad

None of the AR style stocks are as comfortable to me as the old standard ones.

In your shoes, I'd get your present stock fitted and a good pad installed.

I'm 63, arthritic as well as rotator cuff problems in my shooting shoulder, and use light loads, good fit and good form to keep on shooting.
