I am the proud owner of a mossberg 500 persuader (18.5" barrel, 12 guage) and I was wondering if anyone uot there makes a set of rifle sights for this gun.

Ghost rings work, notch and post sights work too.

What are my options?

Thanks in advance!

I bought a Mossberg 500A model with 28" and 18 1/2" barrels. The short barrel lives on it, but I wanted some versatility which is why I went with the 500A. Anyway, I bought the Mossberg factory Ghost Ring sights online and installed them myself. The rear/Ghost Ring installs in the pre-tapped scope mounting holes.
I checked with a gunsmith about soldering the front ramp sight on, but he told me to save my money and epoxy it. So, that's what I did. That front sight isn't going anywhere and JB Weld is really cheap.
So, I guess that my vote is for the Ghost Ring sight

They are very nice sights, might require drilling and taping of the reciver.

The scattergun technology sights (see the wilson combat sight) are also nice but only for the 870 / 1100 / 11-87 that I know of but maybe a good smith could adapt them by milling them or the reciver or an adaptor block. .

I actually prefer the Mossberg sights over the Wilsons, andthey are about half the price. I like them so much, I have a set on my Remington 870 and my Mossberg 500.

I have had a number of riot guns issued to me over the years, and have owned several others. I still find a plain bead to be faster than all others, and plenty accurate with slugs. I guess I just like uncluttered sight pictures on fighting guns. I prefer simple fixed sights on a handgun as well.

The Ghost ring, when properly used, is just as fast as a bead, and much more accurate than a bead. This being said, there is nothing wrong with a bead. However, with ghost rings, I have the confodence and ability to make 100yd slug shots. I rarely carry shot of any kind.

I actually removed the front bead on my shotgun to be faster (although this was for skeet), I just want to make it neat/tactical.

I'll also proably get a heat shield too.

Thanks for the links, and I do already have some JB weld, so that looks like the way to go.

I'm, just one of those guys that likes to mod the crap outta their guns.

Actually on the remington guns I have they have an XS front dot and rear scattergun ring, I find that I can shoot "off the cuff" with the dot sight or aim with the ring for longer or more mesured shots. Maybe I'm doing something wrong but works for me and seems like the best of both worlds. Because the scatter gun sight does not have big boxy ears or other stuff on top the reciver it makes it easier to do this.

I am using PSI/LPA sights on my gun. The easiest thing is to mount the BAR11W;s on a rail( your reciever should be tapped already), remove the front bead and install the LPA front.

My personal 500 has the sight tapped into the reciever and the front silver soldered on.

You can also pick up the Mossberg Ghost rings. They are the best value, arond $70.
