Mossberg 500 clone?

I have a gun that I think of as a Mossberg 12ga. It looks just like one and is completely interchangable with one.

On the bottom, it says: New Haven by Mossberg model 600AT.

If it's "by Mossberg, then it's really a Mossberg, right?

Aren't Mossberg's made in New Haven, CT? It seems to refer to New Haven as the brand name.
 
Mossberg also markets guns under the Maverick nameplate. A Maverick 88 is a mossberg 500. Not sure if that helps you though.
 
New Haven is indeed the brand name of your shotgun. Also that it was built by Mossberg.
New Haven Arms firearms were sold through Montgomery Ward. New Haven models were built by most of the major US rifle and shotgun makers.
