Mossberg 185D-A: I have a stock & barrel question

my 185DA

Inactive
First:
How is a Mossberg 185D-A barrel attached to the receiver?
If it is threaded on to the receiver is left or right threads?
What torque is needed?

I have a barrel vice and a receiver wrench, however before I do anything I need to verify how it is attached so I will not damage anything.

Second:
On the stock, a pin is installed near the forearm, what function does it have? Is it a reenforcement pin?

Photographs would be helpful, I have searched the internet for photographs and I have not seen any that are helpful.

Thanks for any help.

IINM, the 185D-A model was produced for just one year (1950). Sorry, but, you can't be too surprised if there's not very much information nor interest in the gun today.
