Mosin Rear Sight Removal

I am trying to remove the rear sight from my Mosin Nagant 91/30 (1939) and I am having trouble removing the rear pin. The middle pin, and the front pin holding in the sight leaf come out easily, but the rear pin appears to be soldered in. Any suggestions?

Probably not, unless it has a really high setting.

I use a Mini-butane torch for this kind of stuff, but a propane torch- used judiciously- will do the trick. You're far enough away from the receiver that moderate heat applied to the sight won't risk damage to the tempering.

Just don't over-do it.
