Mosin Nagant

I want to put a scope on my Mosin but i dont want to drill holes in it or have a LER scope (those things suck) but they only things i can find that are at all like that mount onto the rear sight of the model M38 and i have a 91/30. Will a m38 rear sight go onto the dovetail of my mosin?
and also what is the best way to polish my bolt? thanks :)

The rear sight scope mount should work with a 91/30. The M38 rear sight is just a shortened version of the 91/30 rear sight.
Actual compatibility will depend on the particulars of the rifle, and the brand of scope mount you're considering. (I believe there were 3-5 on the market, last time I checked.)

There's some company that makes a very long rail that mounts on the rear sight dove tail.

Another option is the one guy who does the wrap and lock underneath the receiver scope mount.

At work right now so don't have enough time to search for the links.

As for the rear sight dovetails....
They should be the same, but over the years the sights were soldered, not soldered; pinned, not pinned; set-screwed; double-set-screwed; double-pinned; and/or heavily staked. Compatibility depends on the attachment method for your 91/30 and the M38 sight base you would obtain.
There's no guarantee that any old M38 base will work on your particular 91/30.

There are a lot of people that scope Mosins, and I won't put them down for it. But, in my opinion, it needs to be drilled and tapped properly (none of the hokey RSB mounts). Otherwise... just buy a rifle that's more amiable to scope mounting.

Ok so i found a scope mount deal...its called a Jmeck scope mount. pretty cool.
Now how should i go about with polishing my bolt?

That's the one !!!! The one that "wraps" around the receiver !!!

Polishing the bolt .... Look as to where the surfaces meet and rub ... Lightly very lightly sand there

Then the entire bolt hmmm either Dremel or go to HF and buy a cheap buffer and buff the hell out if it

I found this "scout" set up that can be added to the Mosin without any modifications to the gun.

Just push out the pin that holds on the rear sight and use the mount in place of the sight. No holes, no permanent modification to the rifle.

Its a quick shooting situation. If you are like me and don't like screwing with the "as issued" aspect of military rifles then try this one.

Only $54 from Sportsman's Guide

The scope is cheap, but I've shot the crap out of the rifle with this set up and can find no problems.

As you can see from the picture you can still use the stripper clips for loading and in my opinion, it's a nice looking set up.

He didn't want the LER scout setup.

Personally I like it lol in fact so much I'll be installing a scout setup on my lady's Mosin as well, the scope arrived yesterday.

I polish the running surfaces of my aftermarket bolts lightly with Cratex.
You need to be careful, especially if using coarse Cratex (as it will remove metal), but will get the bolt surface teflon-smooth if done correctly/carefully.
