I found a muzzle brake for my M-44 at a gun show. Its one of the type that flips over the back of the sight and tightens with a thumb screw. I finally got to fire the rifle with it on. It stayed tight and did not blow off like the set screw types will. It does cut the thumping recoil a bit. And it does direct alot of barrel wash back. And the already impressive M-44 barrel flash is REALLY awesome now.
