At the end of Chapter 1, I had gotten Lil Ti on the paper. Realized some tweaking was needed.
Chapter 2. I adjusted the trigger down to about two pounds. Sweet! Crisp, no creep. So, off to the bench.
Figured out immediately that a 3X scope wasn't gonna work with my eyes to get really impressive groups. C'est la vie.
The rather-slender stainless steel barrel certainly heats up quickly. Regardless, I found I could shoot three-shot groups rather quickly and hold 1-1/2". (Remington 140-grain Core-Lokt ammo.)
By the time I had a total of 17 rounds through the rifle, the initial stiffness in operating the bolt had gone away.
Next step will be playing with handloads.
Impressions so far: Eggzackly what I need in a walking-hunting rifle. Plenty accurate for deer, using factory ammo. At 6-1/4 pounds, fully dressed, my old legs oughta last a while longer.
