Starting off the evening with a few quick posts...
Ever been out to the range to enjoy a sunny weekend day -- only to have a half-dozen fools out there only to make noise?
Here's the action on the "rifle portion" of the range:
Bench 1, Father and (very young) son shoot an assortment of .22s from 10-25yrds.
Bench 2, Two gentleman shoot a TC Contender with umpteen bazillion different barrels (mainly 17 Rem) and the absolutely most sweetest .22 rifle I have ever seen in my life. I think he called it a ZK something or another -- but I don't remember the model number. At 100yrds.. my 3rd shot landed directly ON TOP of the "X" in the bullseye. I mean, it was quite an awesome piece of work.. anyway..
Bench 3, My dad, brother, two friends and myself shooting an assortment of .30-06's, a .308 and a .30-30.
Bench 4, Two guys (about my age) that appeared to be sighting in their hunting rifles (.30-30s)
Bench 5, Father and son doing the same thing at Bench 4.
At the "pistol portion" of the range, which often doubles as standing rifle action:
1st group, 4 guys shooting various different rifles and a shotgun.
2nd group, 2 teenagers shooting .22 rifles.
3rd group, straight out of the movie theaters with their SKSs a TEC-9 and other unrecognizeable ghetto junk guns.

If you're going to go make noise.. I can think of PLENTY of pulpwood areas less than a mile from the range where you can grind stumps.
If you're going to shoot an SKS as fast as you can at something at 10yrds.. pick somewhere else to do it
If you're going to shoot a TEC-9.. at least shoot it like you didn't learn how to do it from watching low budget inner-city gang war movies.
If you're going to shoot up range "property".. at least wait until the ranger is around to fine you heavily for it. If there is any problem that our range suffers from the most -- its that people abuse it! Shooting PVC piping that holds the target stands in the ground (small pieces of fallen trees with chicken wire? to hold up targets) doesn't do much good when there becomes a shortage of target stands.. which happens very often.
Additionally --
Go shoot somewhere else if you are not going to pay attention to the recognized "range officer" when he calls for people to cease fire.
Go shoot somewhere else if you are going to wave your firearms around behind the line.
Go shoot somewhere else if you are going to load your firearms when you obviously aren't going to shoot immediately upon loading them.

Sorry gang..
